The film Drive taught me a lot of things about film making. The most important being the element of surprise. There are no real “shocking” moments in the film but there are many that just seem like brutal realities. There’s nothing glossy or flashy about these things but they’re the result of every day circumstances. It could happen to anyone. Drive shows you things you read about in the paper or hear on the news. When you hear about things on the media you’re not sure how anyone could get into those predicaments… but Drive beautifully shows you how easily one thing can lead to another.
