    Just watched: Gerry

    Gerry

A film that makes Tree of Life look like Glengarry Glen Ross when it comes to dialogue. Visually appealing in every aspect with the film being 80% show/20% tell. A basic concept turned into a film, two friends go out hiking and they get lost and start to turn on each other. You can tell from the beginning that there isn’t much dialogue between the two characters even before things went wrong. They seemed almost estranged at times. The film tended to drag on at times and some scenes felt like they would never end. Very dark ending however, redeemed itself a little bit. Damon and Casey Affleck were decent in the film, no real standout between the two of them. Couldn’t even tell their subtext to appropriately judge their performance because the camera was too focused on the scenery the whole time.

I lived on this block my whole life; most of these people have. When your job is to find people who are missing, it helps to know where they started. I find the people who started in the cracks and then fell through. This city can be hard. When I was young, I asked my priest how you could get to heaven and still protect yourself from all the evil in the world. He told me what God said to His children. “You are sheep among wolves. Be wise as serpents, yet innocent as doves.”
