Just watched: Jeff Who Lives at Home
Jeff Who Lives at Home
I really enjoyed the Duplass brothers’ film “Cyrus” with John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill in it. I felt like they were able to bring out some real good dramatic acting from Jonah Hill and they managed to do the same thing in Jeff Who Lives at Home with Jason Segel and Ed Helms. Jeff Who Lives at Home is a complete 180 from what I was expecting. I was immersed in the journey this story takes us on with the main character, Jeff who is an unemployed 30 year old that lives with his mother. He doesn’t show it but he strives for something more. He is constantly questioning and saying “why not?” instead of just “why?” He wants answers and he seems desperate to get them immediately. He gets them throughout the film. Ed Helms was great in this as well. Susan Sarandon was decent in her supporting filler role but was integral to the story. The ending really is a charm. So well written. One of 2012’s best hidden gems.
